A: This will vary based on services selected. In general, our sanding and refinishing process will take 3 to 5 days barring any unforeseen issues.

Q: What is the drying time?
A: Drying time is based on the finish selected. Our water-based polyurethane finish has a drying time of roughly 90 minutes while the oil-based alternative requires six to seven hours between applications.

Q: How many coats of polyurethane do you use?
A: We are one of the only companies in greater St. Louis offering a 4-coat application. If desired, a traditional 3-coat application is available as well.

A: Yes. Our team is amazing at repairing and refinishing hardwood floors. However, if boards are damaged beyond repair, we may have to install new planks for an additional cost.

Testimonials

“It is our pleasure to recommend the services of Randy Jefferson and his company, Floors Done Right. I chose to use Randy’s company because of his professionalism and high standards, and I could not be happier with the results. From the beginning of the process Randy showed that he cared about giving our company excellent service and advice. He took the time to explain our options fully and help us choose a color and finish that would work best with our homes. After showing us the samples of our choice, he assured us that he would be happy to come back and show us more if we desired. As a result of his patience and conscientiousness, we made the perfect choices. Furthermore, he and his team are punctual and exceptionally courteous, which made working with them a pleasure. Our faith in Randy and his team paid off. We are delighted with the beauty of our refinished floors and by how much they enhance all of Like New Construction properties. As an added bonus, the team’s innovative dust-free method meant that we did not even have to dust, which astonished me. We are grateful for working with a company like Floors Done Right that believes in providing an outstanding service. We have continued to use them on 10 additional houses and will continue using them again.”

"I got my floors done by Floors Done Right and it was a great experience! I had purchased my home and got a neighbor to help me remove the carpet . I knew I would find pet stains due to the heavy odor of the place but had hopes the stains wouldnt be too bad. Sadly I was wrong; I had ALOT of them and some of them were black. I started thinking of the replacement cost of some of the boards, the likelihood of some of the stains being able to not come out, and so I had it in my mind that for sure, I would have to resign myself to carpet again. My mailman saw my neighbor and I taking out the carpet and he asked if I had found someone to do my floors; I told him that I was going back to carpet because of the stains, etc. He told me to give Randy Jefferson a call at Floors Done Right; he said he had used them at his own home and he had some of the same problems and that he was pleased at the outcome AND the price. I decided to give him a shout.

Mr.Jefferson arrived the very next day and on time which is always nice, lol. He inspected the floors, and didnt seem too concerned about the stains and only found a place or two where the board would need to be replaced. When he gave me the price I was pleasantly surprised; it would only cost me about 25% or so more than the cost of good grade carpet! I accepted the bid and he and his team got to work fast. I was amazed at whatever solution it was that he used as those stains were GONE when they sanded; I only had one shadow of a stain that practically vanished with the honey tone I chose; my floors look remarkable, to say the least. I cant say enough how pleased I am with them.

Couple things to keep in mind: My floors from start to finish took right at about ten days or so. The results are WORTH it, I can say that for sure. Also Randy was able to keep dust down to a minimum and I have an up and down stairs, so just to be safe, I put up a curtain at the top of the stairs, but found very little dusting on said curtain when all was said and done, so that was really really nice. I would also highly recommend spending the extra 30 bucks for the Floor Cleaning kit he has; it DOES work well and keeps the floors nice and glowing. I would highly recommend this company!"

"My fiancée and I recently purchased a home that required some light rehab work. Needless to say the list seemed never-ending, so we had to manage quite a bit while trying to move as quickly as possible. The wood floors in the house were in great shape, but we didn't like the color at all (they were way too light for our taste.)

We got bids from a lot of different hardwood floor companies. They were all astronomical, to the point where it was getting frustrated. When I talked to Randy from Floors Done Right, I was immediately drawn to his price; it was significantly less than everyone else's. We talked about a timeline, what our goals were, and shortly after he came to take a look and measure.

We were pretty picky about the floor color, which I think is reasonable since it's such a huge part of the house. Randy gave us some color choices and asked us to pick out three, then he'd put some samples on the floor so we could see what we liked best. After he put the three on the floor, we realized we weren't crazy about any of them. He was able to get creative and actually mixed two of them together to find the perfect color we were looking for.

The process took a while -- you're going to want to carve out about three weeks to get everything done including sanding, staining, and the polyurethane. While any house project is daunting, Randy and his team did a great job to make sure we were satisfied. If you're looking for a reasonable choice in hardwood floors, I'd recommend Floors Done Right.

Also, random tip for the heinous polyurethane smell: sliced onions in bowls of water in every room. Weird, but it works.

Thanks Randy!"
